So atleast you know what will make you money. You're one step ahead of the game there, buddy.

Keep what you’re passionate about as a hobby, it’s okay to have a job that’s pays the bills and a hobby you love to do.

ngl this comment has helped me think different. i graduated from university and some days i don't feel like working for what I studied. i have to point out that i still haven't found a job that i studied for.

u/FonkyChonkyMonky Oct 17 '21

And here I am, completely destitute of circles.

u/KnowYourRole96 Oct 17 '21

This should be the key honestly . Myself as an example I’ve always been passionate about gaming , technology and computers . Good at fixing them up and troubleshooting tech problems so I ended up learning about being a IT Technician and after a year and a half I got myself a decent job as a school tech for my city

This is basically my plan, except I end up opening a PC shop where I repair, troubleshoot, and sell computers.

You and I are lucky. We have one circle, not three. I hope you accomplish whatever plans you have!

7

u/WillTreaty_ Oct 18 '21

Damn. I hope my life turns out like you two.

4

u/ewpqfj One does not simply Oct 18 '21

Try to explore new things. You'll never find what you're passionate about otherwise.

I know that's really generic, and most people view it as a sort of r/thanksimcured thing, but it's true. You'll never find something without looking, unless you're exceptionally lucky. Don't just limit yourself to what can make you rich either; a lesser-paying job you enjoy is better than a high-paying one you hate.

Happy cake day!

1

u/WillTreaty_ Oct 18 '21

Oh, thanks! I never noticed lol.

2

u/KnowYourRole96 Oct 18 '21

Apply yourself to your best potential and anything is possible . I know that sounds very cliche but that was the situation I was in . Young adult everyone around me getting themselves situated and I felt lost but things clicked some days and fought through a lot of tough days but you’ll get there

7

u/Corvideous Oct 17 '21

Might be controversial but if you are really, truly great at any one thing, keep doing it and find a way to make it pay. You can do it.

2

u/Kratos10x20 Oct 18 '21

Exactly. People always expect you to go the save route with a normal job but you only have this one life to chase your dreams. I myself wanted to start a streaming career for 6 years now tho everyone I know seems to have one of the opinions „its not a job“ or „you can’t be successful with it cuz then everyone would do it“. If you don’t try to make your passion your job you will never really shine working a job that you don’t really want to do.

5

u/wiwho Oct 18 '21

I have no idea what I am good at

4

u/ewpqfj One does not simply Oct 18 '21

That's normal. Many people never find out, but I suggest you try some new things. Often you're good at what you enjoy.

2

u/Clericsarecool Oct 17 '21

This is literally why I am going into wielding. art don't pay no bills.

2

u/WillTreaty_ Oct 18 '21

I hope you mean welding, not wielding?

3

u/OG_tame Oct 17 '21

This made me laugh ty

3

u/Registeredpedo47 Oct 17 '21

What I am passionate about is something I never do.

u/nottheginosaji Breaking EU Laws Oct 17 '21

you don't necessarily need to be good. If you are passionate about something, that can cover bills as well. i.e. there are prostitutes that get paid for the starfish. terrible for regular people, great for necrophiliacs.

u/Frog-Bob Oct 18 '21

Nice repost

3

u/fixotherm Oct 18 '21

all my circles are disjoint

2

u/Sufficient_Matter585 Oct 18 '21

Theres always ways to make money off a skill, passion/interest. But don't expect to get rich or retire from it.

2

u/jolcav Oct 18 '21

None of my circles overlap

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/memes.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

Solution? Reject currency, embrace anarcho communism.

1

u/khoabear Oct 18 '21

Just keep pivoting until you make money

1

u/TheSimpler Oct 18 '21

Add to the "What will make me money", 2 more circles:

What hurts me to do?

What will make me depressed in the long term?

1

u/UYScutiSN Oct 18 '21

Me but the "what I'm good at" circle doesn't exist

All three circles are separate for me

I got the fucking jackpot. I like arguing. Whether it be over the meaning of life or whether tomatoes are a fruit or not I’ll argue over anything.

PS: tomatoes are a vegetable.

1

u/MrLavenderValentino Oct 18 '21

I've seen this before

1

u/PiratePig2004 Oct 18 '21

You see, in my case all 3 are basically 1 circle with little separated bits, and the big bit just says manual labor.

1

u/B1ackPantherr Oct 18 '21

“If you’re good at something never do it for free”

1

u/jrmmorris2 Oct 18 '21

I think the expectation that you should make a living doing what you’re passionate about is actually super unhealthy.

If you have something you love to do, sometimes the worst thing you can do is put the pressure of becoming dependent on it for a paycheck.

I love photography, but if I started trying to support my family by trying to book a wedding every weekend, I am 100% positive that I would end up absolutely hating it.

Sometimes passions are great because they don’t have dollar signs attached to them.

u/Haz_y Oct 18 '21
